THE STORY OF CHAMLAR

Once known as The Little Club at Schroon Lake and later as The Little Haven, this property held significance as a social and entertainment venue during the mid-20th century. It was established in the early 1930s, and was a popular lakefront vacation spot all the way through the mid-1950s.

The Little Club was renowned for its cozy and intimate atmosphere, attracting both locals and tourists to its doors. It served as a hub for social gatherings, dining, and live entertainment. Visitors would often enjoy evenings filled with music, dancing, and camaraderie.

Though now called Chamlar Lakefront Resort and Cabins, we still carry on the tradition of being an unforgettable place of laughter and fun where families can come to make unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime!

“I first vacationed at Chamlar in the 1970s as a child and I still love coming back as an old man! ... The cabins are clean and the beds are very comfortable. Probably my favorites are the screened porches which are well furnished with a table and comfy furniture. There is always plenty of room on the beach.”

THE STORY OF US

Chamlar has been owned and operated by the Champeau Family for almost 60 years.  We stumbled upon the property in the late 1960's.  After fixing it up, we had so much fun each summer that we thought we'd invite other people to join in!  We consider everyone who vacations at Chamlar our family's personal guests.
